Brownies

The Brownies CCA at Xinmin Primary School is aligned with the Girl Guides Singapore (Headquarters) movement and focuses on nurturing confident, resilient and compassionate young leaders. The programme provides structured opportunities for girls to develop essential life skills that enable them to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the world whilst growing in character and values.
The Brownies programme emphasises experiential learning, teamwork and service to the community, developing girls into effective collaborators and leaders. Through hands-on activities and collaborative learning experiences, Brownies are guided to take ownership of their learning and apply values meaningfully in real-life contexts.
Brownies participate in various competitions and national-level events organised by Girl Guides Singapore (Headquarters), which allow them to develop confidence, leadership skills and a sense of achievement. At the school level, Brownies work closely with the North Division Guides and other Uniformed Groups to contribute to community service initiatives and school-wide events.
To instil empathy and social responsibility, Brownies engage in Service-Learning projects where they develop awareness of the challenges faced by others and play an active role in making a positive difference within the community. These experiences reinforce values such as care, responsibility and respect whilst strengthening their sense of civic duty.
The Brownies CCA also collaborates with other Uniformed Groups within Xinmin Primary School, such as the Red Cross and Scouts. Through these inter-uniformed group collaborations, girls learn and share practical skills that are transferable across different contexts, promoting unity, mutual respect and resilience.
