Chinese Dance

At Xinmin Primary School, the Chinese Dance CCA aims to cultivate students’ mental, emotional, and artistic growth through dance. We nurture confident individuals through the mastery of dance skills and meaningful performance experiences, while developing motivated lifelong learners with a deep appreciation for dance. Through collaborative performances, students also learn teamwork and resilience as they serve the community.
Our programme embraces a rich cultural heritage and promotes inclusivity, welcoming students from all backgrounds. We provide a supportive and collaborative environment where dancers grow in confidence and cooperation, with opportunities to perform on various platforms and experience the beauty of dance.
Training is rooted in Chinese folk and classical dance, with a strong emphasis on foundational techniques alongside artistic expression. Through body movements and facial expressions, dancers learn to convey emotions with grace and precision. This holistic training sharpens focus, builds discipline, and nurtures creativity, contributing to both mental and emotional development. The close connection between dance and music also deepens students’ sense of musicality, enriching their overall artistic journey.
Our dancers actively perform at key school events such as:
- SYF In-House Showcase
- Performing HeArts
- Recognition Day
They have also represented the school at public platforms, including:
- Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2024
- Pinetree Yuan Xiao Celebration 2023
